Andrea Šafaříková was born in Banská Štiavnica, Slovak republic. Šafaříková works in variety of different mediums, but actually domines printmaking and drawing in which she depict fragments of obvious enviroments around us bonded together in unusual relationships. Master degree completed in Academy of Arts in Slovakia magna cum laude and was honored by rector of Academy as manifestation of special recognition of her excellent study results during the whole university studies. One year spent in Academy of Fine Arts in Prague positively influenced her relationship to conventional printing techniques. She has participated in several exhibitions not only in the Czech republic and Slovakia but also, in Thailand, USA, Macedonia, Bulgaria.
After the study began to lead courses of painting and drawing and become the head of printmaking studio in Prague art studio. In 2014 co-founded own art studio Kreslírna where she develops creative space for printing and art expression. Typical how Šafaříková perceives visual components is the principle of analysis and construction. The individual elements are diagrams, sets, signs or symbols. Looking for the essence of imaging, tries to overlap a borders of mediums. Wonders what is and what isn´t important to research, not for express herself, but to find some universal clues for another processing. Her work is often related to repository system, in which utilizes taxonomy, topics of our memory and „objective“ truth.
Now lives and works in Prague, Czech republic.
